I Love Connie Suttle!!
I am so hooked on her books that I can't put it down.
Reading her wonderful world of magic, Gods, Vamps, Wolves, etc
& mayhem rocks me to my core!
I read all the Series more times than I can count
I just can't put it down. I even have the audio version of the first 3 Blood Destiny
(Suttle) books. I hope they put all 25 books 26 when First Ordinance Book 3 comes out.
The connections in all Series read in the following order really answers a lot of questions:
1. Saa Thalarr
2. Blood Destiny (Suttle)
3. High Demon
4. God Wars
5. First Ordinance
I don't want to spoil the excitement by blurting out secrets; others have already
done that.

This book is set in the same world has another series I have read. I think this is after that one. I do like the reintroduction of the characters in both books.
Another entry in Connie Suttle's wonderfully entertaining series of other world stories. I have been a fan since her 1st book and she never disappoints. If you haven't read her other series books, I would advise you read them in order.
All the Connie Suttle books I have read would receive a 5 star rating from me. Great world building. I've read them several times that I feel like I could call Lissa ( one of the main characters of many of her books) for lunch.....ha ha!! This one is a continuing story line with all the others and just as good.
I was wondering if such a benign subject can reach the same level as previous story lines. Fortunately for me it did. The action was very good and we got more dimensions to known characters from previous books. The book had all the good ingredients that make Connie Suttle's work so enjoyable. I look forward to the next chapters.
If you have not read anything from Connie Shuttle, I suggest starting at the beginning with 'Blood Wager'. This book is actually a look back at how Adam Chessman became Saa Thalarr. Also, how he and Kiarra became mates. It answers many questions that were only hinted at in previous books. I love that the details are being filled in, and want to scream at Griffin and Merrill for all the mistakes they are making. I'm glad we got to know Joey more. He is such a sweet guy and had never been a main character up to this point. If you love Connie's other books, then you have to read 'Hope and Vengeance'. As always, I can't wait for more!
After reading close to 30 of Ms Suttle's books, I have never been disappointed with any of them (ie length, repeating the same phrases throughout the book or endings). Her books are fun and highly addictive.
In Hope and Vengeance, we get to read a lot of the back story of all the characters we fell in love with in all of the previous series. The character development is such that those characters become part of our family. I highly suggest that you read Blood Wager first and then clear your calender so you read all of her books. I am looking forward to the next book in this series as well as all of her upcoming books.
I read this is one sitting. It is really a prequel to her Blood Destiny series beginning with Blood Wager. Even though this is a sort of prequel I DO suggest reading the other series first. In this book we find out more about how Adam Chessman became a SaaThalarr. We also get in on Merrill and Griffin`s relationship as well as Merrill`s obsession with Kiarra. I was pleased Adam was the first for her because I didn't much like Merrill`s attitude towards Lissa in Blood Destiny. Griffin knowingly puts innocents in danger and has to answer for that.. He has been a selfish being through the Blood Destiny series and this book is no exception.

Of course since this book is about the SaaThalarr and they are on Earth the Ry`Ak and their spawn are involved trying to take over Earth. We learn that the SaaThalarr only fight them on planets worth saving and Earth isn't one of those but nevertheless they come to save it. If you have read the Blood Destiny series then you can probably guess why.
